Many of us have forgotten how to move properly. We live with muscular imbalances, constant pain, and low energy. David Snively is on a mission to change this.
Through over 35 years of training people of all ages and abilities, he has identified the three main functions for physical confidence: STRENGTH, STAMINA and STABILITY. Attainment of this “3S SKILLSET” allows people to move better, feel more energetic and live more efficiently at all ages.
STRENGTH training involves weight-bearing activities targeted at specific muscles. In contrast to weight training machines you’ll find at many gyms, functional training uses exercises that simulate or relate to the movements people make in their regular activities or sports.
STAMINA is developed through cardiovascular conditioning. This is often combined with strength training in David’s Cardio/Strength workouts. You can achieve stamina at home without a treadmill or a bicycle.
STABILITY becomes more and more critical to a full life as we age. David uses movements from yoga, pilates, barre and ballet to sculpt and develop the muscles and confidence required for strong stability. He also introduces myofascial release for mobility and recovery.
To achieve these three objectives in a challenging yet fun way, David has developed and lead workout classes which combine targeted movements with music and rhythm. The classes target one or more of the functions, and often specific body parts. Combined in progressive and periodized PROGRAMS, they are the building blocks for full body fitness.
Many of the workouts can be performed with only your own body weight, but to better challenge the body, David prescribes simple equipment that you can easily order online and store in a cupboard at home.
